You need to install an Rats Proof valve. If you live in Canada, Mexico or the U.S.A. it is easy to get a non-return valve at your preferred hardware store, then simply replace the original flap with the Rats Proof flap. You will avoid transport costs by only ordering the Rats Proof flap.
